At Beecroft Academy, sustainability isn't just a project - it’s woven into our everyday culture. Driven by the pupil voices of our Eco-Council and supported by our entire school community, we work together to nurture environmental awareness, foster responsible habits and ensure every child plays an active role in building a greener future.

Building on our whole-school commitment to sustainability, we are proud to announce that our school has officially been awarded Eco-Schools Green Flag Status with Merit (2026). This recognition highlights the dedicated leadership of our Eco-Council and the everyday efforts of our entire school community in driving meaningful, lasting environmental change.

What are we doing to lower our carbon impact? 

 

As a whole school community, we are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact and nurturing a greener future through a range of practical, everyday actions:

  • Paper recycling in every classroom
  • Food waste bins to minimise waste
  • Regular litter picks around our school grounds
  • Light switch-off competitions to save energy
  • Local community links to share eco-friendly initiatives
  • Promoting walking and scooting to school for healthier, cleaner journeys
  • EV charger
