Young Carers
We are dedicated to supporting our young carers to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. We understand the unique challenges. We ensure early identification through staff training and a clear referral pathway. Once identified, we offer flexible and personalised support, which includes access to our Wellbeing Officers who act as a consistent point of contact, providing emotional check-ins and liaison with external support services. We offer peer support groups during the school day and during holidays. By ensuring confidentiality and offering both practical and emotional resources, we strive to create an inclusive environment where young carers feel safe, understood and empowered to engage fully with their education.
Do you help to look after someone in your family who has a mental or physical illness, disability or is dependent on drugs or alcohol? Do you offer emotional and practical support and take on tasks that are usually done by an adult?
If so, you are a Young Carer and you are not alone. There is plenty of support out there for you.
