It is our belief at Beecroft Academy that Art and Design forms an integral foundation for living and learning and contributes to the development of the whole child emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically.

Through expert teaching and a carefully designed aspirational curriculum, our pupils of all ages will be able to communicate what they see, feel and think, using the language of art, craft and design. It will allow them to experiment with their ideas and a range of materials, whilst mastering a core set of knowledge and skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space.

Pupils will be inspired and able to talk about the works of significant artists and designers and where relevant, make links to the five ‘Big Ideas’ of significance, growth, change, democracy and investigation.

Through the implementation of this vision statement, we will ensure that each of our pupils fulfils their true potential in art and design and ‘Achieve Excellence Together’ to become the best they can possibly be.
